Project Overview
SoftDig supported PSEG Long Island on the Elwood Phase 2 project along Laurel Avenue in Long Island, New York. The work included utility designation, records research, surveying support, and digital mapping deliverables to help document underground conditions and support project coordination. SoftDig supported PSEG Long Island with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Services to identify, map, and document underground utility infrastructure across the project area.
Scope of Services
SoftDig performed Quality Level B utility markouts and designation along the corridor, along with Quality Levels C and D records research and reconnaissance to provide added context for underground infrastructure conditions. The project also included surveying support, GIS mapping, CAD integration, geodatabase management, and gravity detail collection on catch basins. As part of the field scope, SoftDig performed Private Utility Locating Services to support accurate utility markouts and reduce the risk of conflicts during planning and construction.
The work was completed over the course of a month with coordination between SoftDig, the client, and traffic control to support safe and efficient field operations.
Results
SoftDig delivered utility data and digital documentation to support planning and coordination for Elwood Phase 2. Final outputs included utility designation, records research support, catch basin gravity details, and GIS-, CAD-, and geodatabase-ready deliverables for project use.
