Underground Services, Inc. served as SUE subconsultant to Century Engineering. This project involved SUE work for a shared use path project along US113 in Milford, DE. The scope of work included 10,000 L.F. of utility markouts in which the team utilized a combination of non-invasive methods including electromagnetic utility locating, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and other advanced technologies to mark utilities accurately. To further verify the depth and type of utilities located along the path, 10 test holes were excavated. These test holes were strategically placed to obtain precise data on the location, size, and depth of utilities in critical areas. The information gathered from the test holes provided essential details for avoiding conflicts with utilities during the construction phase. In addition, to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, and motorists, a comprehensive maintenance of traffic (MOT) plan was implemented throughout the duration of the utility markout and test hole excavation activities. Field work has been completed and the deliverables package will be delivered to the client enabling them to utilize this information in their final design and construction plans.
