DESIGNATION

Designation: Utilizing geophysical prospecting techniques and electromagnetics to determine the approximate horizontal location of underground utilities.

Survey ground marks are laid to give a computer generated illustration of job-site using the Utility Location & Coordination uniform color code:

PINK  Temporary Survey Marking

RED   Electric Power Lines, Cables Conduit and Lighting Cables

YELLOW   Gas, Oil Steam, Petroleum or Gaseous Materials

ORANGE   Communications, Alarm or Signal Lines, Cable TV or Conduit

BLUE   Water, Irrigation and Slurry Lines

GREEN   Sewers and Drain Lines

WHITE   Proposed Excavation

The S.U.E. Analyst maintains necessary traffic control and safety standards to deliver a comprehensive report on all underground utilities.  There are circumstances in which the conventional methods do not precisely locate the utilities, in which case additional means may be utilized. These include TV video pipe inspection, ground penetrating radar (for non-metallics), and SoftDig's field of expertise - Vacuum Excavation.
